Boudoir can mean many things to different people; it can mean an empowering experience, a step out of your comfort zone or serve as a sensual gift for your significant other. One of my favourite meanings behind a boudoir session, the beautiful Queen S mentioned in this blog, is that it can be a visual reminder to give yourself credit for the amazing things you do in your regular, everyday life. So, in a way, boudoir becomes this celebration of the awesome person you are, and it's kind of like saying, "Hey, you're doing great!"

Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before?
Never, but I had so much fun I would definitely do it again!
Why did you do your boudoir shoot?
I turned 40, have a mom's body after two kids, and am in the middle of a messy divorce. I saw a post on Facebook and thought it would be an incredible way to celebrate me! When I was talking with Quinn about doing the shoot, she mentioned that some women like to get a canvas print to hang above their bed, and I thought, "How empowering would that be, to see myself as a divinely sexy woman every single day!" I booked it right away.
What was your favourite part of the session?
How can I pick?! It's a tie between having hair and makeup included, the wide variety in the sets and being able to do a bunch of different outfits.
What did doing this shoot do for your self-confidence, self-worth, and self-image? Tell me your story.
Tied into the reasons why I did the boudoir shoot, my confidence was at an all-time low, and I had forgotten how amazing I am, that I am beautiful, and that my body is gorgeous. I am a goddess, and anyone would be lucky to have me in their life. This was just what I needed to remind myself of all of that! I keep looking at the photos over and over and sharing them at any opportunity I get :)
Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?
This was so much more than I was expecting! I thought it would be maybe two or three outfits, a couple of sets, and that's it. I think we did nine outfits in the end! I didn't want the day to end; I had a blast. And then, when it came to seeing the final photos, they were more than double what I was expecting! It was tough having to pare them down.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?
The best part was just how easy Quinn made posing. I'm not the most graceful or coordinated person; she had easy-to-follow instructions that led to some incredible photos. I don't think I would change a thing other than having more money so I could do it a second time!
Is there anything extra you would like to tell us?
This whole process was so easy and relaxed. Quinn's emails about what to expect, how to shop, and how to prepare were very helpful. Thanks again, Quinn, for reminding me how stunning I am!
