Women are often discounted and limited by the social pressures in society. We are told how to act, how to look and how to view ourselves from a very young age. I've encountered so many barriers to self-acceptance and self-love trying to fit the mould societal expectations have placed on women. In my line of work, I have come to realize that by honouring and celebrating femininity, we empower women to embrace their true selves. I see a boudoir as a means of fostering a sense of self-love, acceptance, and appreciation for our incredible journeys of womanhood. Queen M was yet another client who gave herself the opportunity to regain her power and strength through my lens. I am beyond grateful to have worked with her.

Why did you do your boudoir shoot?
I turned 30 this year and became pregnant with my first child! I always wanted to do one, but this was the push.
What was your favourite part of the session? The lighting and sets made it a comfortable environment. Everything was relaxed and organized from the get-go. I really enjoyed that you always explained the body positions and why it was the most flattering.
What did doing this shoot do for your self-confidence, self-worth, and self-image? Tell me your story. I truly believe that all women should celebrate themselves. Often, it can be hard for a lot of us to do real self-care and remember how important we are to ourselves and those who care about us. It is one of those things that you just have to make a priority. I love going through my albums and photos and just looking at myself and feeling both powerful and beautiful.
Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different? It was definitely a more comfortable experience than I expected. I really thought the posing would be more physically challenging. It was quite the opposite. Very easy to follow directions.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?
Really glad that I took the time to get nails and new lingerie for the shoot. Added to the pampering experience and made me feel like a new woman. Really great advice was provided on what would photograph well, making it easier to confidently be ready.
